The International Space Station (ISS) is a space environment research laboratory that also serves as a habitable artificial satellite in low Earth orbit. It was first launched in 1998 and represents a massive scientific, engineering, and political achievement through international cooperation among multiple countries’ space agencies, including NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada).
